Writing is the Thinking

Last updated Nov 30, 2024

Remember: Writing is the thinking. The more you write, the more notes you take, and the better of a thinker you become. You’ll read better with better questions in your mind. Without writing, there is no thinking, no progress.

From Smart Note Taking:

Writing is not the outcome of thinking; it is the medium in which thought occurs.

On the note of Writing Effectively, Larry McEnerney is saying similar things about bringing value to the readers. As well as Nick Milo with Linking Your Thinking (LYT).

Another who says similar things is Tim Ferriss with How to Use Writing to Sharpen Your Thinking (Transcript).

Steal like an artist Trilogy (Austin Kleon) calls it Steal like an artist Trilogy (Austin Kleon):

We figure it out in the act of making it. Not before.

Or as Paul Graham quoted:

If you’re thinking without writing, you only think you’re thinking. Leslie Lamport
