Data Analytics
The term data analytics comes mostly from the success of dbt. As it was so popular, and allowed to join together SQL statements in an elegant and documented way, the field got a new name, “Data Analytics”.
To me, that field was always there, either through Business Intelligence or a domain expert, such as people from the business who know it inside and out. Also, to install power users that know the BI Tools or technical aspect of data engineering/business inteligence a bit better, to help their fellow business people to create a report or dashboard, or Excel sheet, is a common practice that helps the data engineering or BI team as a enlarged arm and a better channel of communication than blasting technical updates to everyone at the company or team.
