Annual Reflection: Year Review

It is this time of the year.

I have a template I prepared for myself that links to the previous year and asks me all the questions (see Bluesky Link). This process helps me guide and update my principles, so I can see whether my actions match my long-term vision.

Spending some Quality Time in Times of Algorithms

I’m speding some time off, that helps me gain new ideas and also avoid buring out. I wrote a little more about it and how to be well in times of Algorithms in this latest article.

Some quotes:
→ I feel that people are fed up with the internet for the first time since its creation.

→ To get away from algorithms, away from being locked in and dependent on the platform, away from big tech chasing our attention, back to real connections as opposed to losing our followers with the Death of the Follower. We need open platforms such as Open Social Media and an open web

Vim Motions for Writers

Vim Motions for writing are the best flow I can imagine. The smoothness and clarity are on another level.

If you want to see what this looks like, below is a live capture of me writing an article based on my existing notes and navigating my Obsidian vault with Vim motions. The video is sped up 2000% from the original screen capture, reducing 43 minutes to 2 minutes.

Replacing macOS with Linux (Omarchy) for my Daily Driver

I switched my five-year-old MacBook Pro M1 Max for a cheap (comparable) Lenovo ThinkBook 14 G7 ARP (AMD) laptop, running Linux (Arch btw, or better, Omarchy. And I am having a blast. But not everything is perfect. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
