  • we don’t share when others don’t have something to learn from
    • It’s vastly different if you share something people learn, or if you put out because you need to.
    • you have two options: either
    • David shares that the philosophy of out-teaching the competition is in their DNA.
  • most bigger unicorn companies, their approaches don;t apply to many companies.
    • But what Basecamp shares is reaching many more as there are just more companies that can relay to what they are saying — basically in the same shoes
  • basically, they love sharing it even though it’s not perfect. it’s Learn in Public
  • they don’t like content marketing. Because they have to push stuff on a schedule. Basecamp doesn’t share if they don’t have anything to say

    • Now, on the bigger point though, this is actually good for business in the sense that you can either buy someone’s attention or you can earn it.
    • … it’s just so much deeper.
    • you put good stuff into the universe
    • it’s a source of energy
      • And I would do it whether there was a return or not a return.
    • old adage that if you really wanna learn something, you should try teaching it
