Learn for Life

Learn for life was my earliest Mantra and slogan in my blog. It has stayed with me to this day; it’s My Principles number 1. Anthony de Mello says in Awareness (Anthony de Mello, J. Francis Stroud), that this is ke to waking up.

It was for a long time on my blog, and as a background image on social media:

Jason Fried said ^99a7ca

“That’s where they (the insights) come from, the shower and the software”.

Having insights is the most fun—my highest principle is to learn something new every day. It’s the same Mantra as having an insight. We can push them by doing something new or in an unconventional way. Doing the Pathless Path, or going against the hype. Loved that conversation. ^695a9b

Always learning. (?)

# Defining Success

  • Common definition of success: reaching a desired outcome.
  • Scientist’s definition of success: learning something new. If you learn something, you haven’t failed.
    • She explained how scientists predefine how long they experiment, not stopping if they don’t feel like it. E.g., if you say you want to write more, instead of just writing, you define: I will write for at least one month, or at least 10 articles. And then you don’t stop before.
    • Success is not defined by the outcome, but by the experience, the way that you learned something new!
