Audiobooks
Books recorded as audible, to be consumed via voice. Usually on Audible or similar services.
I almost exclusively read audiobooks. Due to my work, spending all day reading on a screen, I discovered that my eyes are usually very tired, but my brain is still able to listen. For example, relaxing in bed, reading a book, and my eyes fall asleep. But instead, I can close my eyes and listen to a good audiobook for 30 to 45 minutes before I sleep with no problem.
That’s why I consume almost all my books in audio format through Audible. Also, when I’m on the bus, on the go, or in a line waiting, I can just listen to a good book instead of staring at a screen on my phone or bringing lots of books with me.
I also listen to multiple books simultaneously, so I can switch based on mood since I have them all with me.
Books read by the authors on Audible are just another level; it feels like listening to them in person. Although a physical book has advantages, audiobooks are just something different—no wonder they are ever-growing. Bluesky
